I too am beginning to think state farm hates me. I live in Al and our house was damaged in the april 27 tornados. Everything has gone without a hitch except that they will not give us a new roof that was damaged I have had 2 roofers who told me our roof was shot 2 adjusters that want to door a patch job NOT! Talked with my agent who said. Would check into it
is last night water noticed coming through ceiling called agent today to tell him and was told it was our responsibility to cover the roof if we had leaks. HELLO these r the people who do not want to replace the roof. I am just exhausted dealing with these morons. All I want is a roof!!!!

I’m with Progressive. They’ve been pretty good to me. My credit sucks, I’m poor and have switched auto insurance companies a few times. The have really great customer service and Roadside assistance…which when you are Murphy’s Law like me comes in handy Best of Luck! Love the blog

Sweetie, State Farm hates everybody, it’s not just you, Infact Brian and I just had this conversation the other day and State Farm was half the topic when insurance companies came up… They charge too much and they underdeliver, I would definately look into Progressive or somewhere else, we use Geico now, and we had Allstate before them. I had a claim with Allstate, replaced my back window on my blazer because a piece fell off the glass and they didn’t bat an eyelash even though it was a $1000 replacement and my monthly did not go up… And always carry glass coverage on your insurance policy even if your vehicle is paid off….!

It’s definitely worth shopping around. Unfortunately, I think it’s pretty common these days to pull a credit report, so you might not have as good of luck getting good rates until your credit score goes up. Insurance companies are in the business of risk, so it stands to reason that they’re going to evaluate the risk of their customers as part of the operations. Insurance is a big area to look at for potential savings. I can’t remember who it is, but I’ve even seen a blogger (one of the big dogs) who takes off one vacation day every year just to evaluate his policies, call around, and make sure he’s comfortable that he’s paying the best rates. So, I would definitely take a look around so long as your expectations are in check.
