Why I Should Not Pay to Have my Hair Colored

I thought out of all of my budget cuts that eating out and giving up my favorite foods would be the hardest to stick with.

I was wrong.

Believe it or not, it’s my hair. Sure, I did a pretty nice job with the box hair color, but after seeing my friend yesterday and her new 3 color highlighted hair I am really wondering if I’m going to be able to stick to this one.

So here are the reasons I should not go to the hair salon. (sigh) And yes, this is more for me than anyone else.

1. I am suspicious that all of the bleaching and coloring was thinning my hair and the cause of why I was losing so much. Whether related or not, I’m going to say my hair is healther since I’ve stopped.

2. Professional hair styling and coloring is a temporary high that lasts a couple months before you need another expensive fix.

3. I hated sitting there for over an hour. Seemed like a billion other things I could be doing besides sitting in a chair looking at outdated magazines. This is the main reason I stopped getting manicures and pedicures.

4. Half the time no one even noticed that I had gotten my hair done. Seriously, not just men either. Most of the time, except for the really blonde episode, I probably looked the same.

5. I cannot afford to have my hair done professionally. Plain and simple. Unless my hair figures out how to make money, it isn’t worth it.

Note to self: People with boring hair that can pay their bills are way hotter than people with fancy hair that can’t.
